How to choose a Sia wallet

Siacoin's wallet landscape in 2026 is small. That's both a feature (less noise) and a consequence of the network's size. This page lists every actively-operated Sia-compatible wallet as of April 2026 and compares them on the decisions that actually matter for a holder: v2 compatibility, custody model, hardware wallet support, mobile availability, migration tools, and open-source signing provenance.

We're one of these wallets. That's a bias we can't fully scrub. What we've done instead: every claim made about another wallet is sourced to that wallet's own site or public release notes, with links. Where a feature status is unclear, we mark it 'partial' rather than claiming a win we can't substantiate. If something on this page is wrong, open an issue at siawallet.tech.

Methodology and sources

Every 'Yes' in the table above links to a verifiable public source — the vendor's own site, a release note, or an app store listing. 'Partial' means a feature works but with caveats (Chrome flag, manual flow, single-platform only). 'No' means the feature is absent from the current public product as of 2026-04-18.

Features specific to Sia Wallet that we claim here are observable in our source (siawallet.tech), verifiable against our binaries, and documented on the specific feature pages of this site. If a competitor ships a feature we've marked 'No' or 'Partial,' we update the table within seven days of being notified.

When to use each wallet

Sia Wallet

Most holders.

If you want a native desktop wallet with one-click Ledger, legacy seed migration for post-Sia-UI holders, multi-sig for treasury use, and a mobile roadmap with a committed date — this is the default choice for consumer self-custody of Siacoin in 2026.

SiaCentral Lite

Quick web-based checks.

Well-maintained, trusted by the community since 2020, and purpose-built for quick access from any browser without installing anything. Best as a secondary wallet or for holders who prefer web over desktop software and accept the Chrome-flag Ledger setup.

Atomic Wallet

If you're already in their ecosystem.

Multi-coin convenience if you already hold multiple assets and are comfortable with a closed-source wallet. Note the June 2023 security incident and the removal of the iOS app from the App Store when evaluating trade-offs.

Ledger + walletd

Maximum technical control.

If you want to run walletd yourself, maintain full-node sync, and use the Sia Foundation's reference stack directly. Ledger is the signing layer; walletd provides the UI. Trade-off: more moving parts, developer-facing documentation, no consumer polish.

Sia-UI

Don't use it.

Sia-UI was deprecated in 2024 and cannot transact on the post-v2 Sia network. If you still have a wallet in Sia-UI, your funds are fine — the seed still derives addresses — but you need to migrate. Use the Sia Wallet seed migration assistant.

Comparison questions

Does Trust Wallet or MetaMask support Siacoin?

Neither. Siacoin is not an ERC-20 token and runs on its own blockchain — Trust Wallet and MetaMask are focused on EVM-family assets and do not integrate it. For non-custodial Siacoin storage, use Sia Wallet, SiaCentral Lite, Atomic Wallet, walletd, or a Ledger with the Sia app.

Is the Atomic Wallet still safe for Siacoin?

Atomic Wallet had a publicly-disclosed security incident in June 2023. It continues to operate and supports Siacoin among many other assets. Whether to use it is a personal call — weigh its multi-coin convenience against Sia-native features in Sia Wallet like legacy seed migration and native Ledger without browser flags.

Can I use more than one Siacoin wallet at the same time?

Yes. Your Siacoin lives on the blockchain, not in any specific wallet. You can hold the same 12-word seed across multiple wallets (don't actually share seeds across software you don't trust, but technically it works), or split holdings across separate seeds in separate wallets. Many holders use one desktop wallet for large balances and a watch-only mobile wallet for monitoring.

Is Sia Wallet better than SiaCentral?

They are different tools. Sia Wallet is a native desktop app with a consumer-first onboarding and in-flow migration. SiaCentral is a web wallet optimised for quick access from any browser. For everyday use and longer-term storage, native + offline-capable wins; for a quick balance check on a borrowed machine, a web wallet is genuinely handy. Most serious holders will use both.
